24 Weeks!

I am 24 weeks today. This is a milestone that at one point seemed impossible. While we are nowhere near being out of the woods it is so gratifying to watch time pass.

My hospital stay has been uneventful thus far. My goal is to be the most boring patient I can be. I have received both doses of steroids to help with lung maturation and am also now on antibiotics to prevent infection. Depending on how far the pregnancy continues they may give me a second round of steroids down the road.

Tomorrow I should be moved to a room with a view. Well, at least a better view than the brick wall I currently stare at. With any luck I may be able to have the room to myself for a bit.

Baby Girl is doing well and has a very strong heartbeat. If I hadn't seen otherwise on u/s I would swear she has 16 elbows from all the pokes I get. Right now enjoying her movements is the highlight of my day. I really cherish this time with her.

Anneliese came for a visit today and turned the foot of my bed into a piano. We had many wonderful performances to watch. She seems to be adjusting to this new change fairly well, thank goodness. She actually thinks my room is "so beautiful" and loves the cafeteria food.

  2. Hey JT, so glad you started a Blog so we can follow along and see how you and your little girl are doing. I pray for you often. I have come across some great Blogs in the past few months that have touched me deeply. I mentioned one to you before but there is another one I came across that has touched me just as deeply. Here is the link:

Now her daughter did not have functioning kidneys and her pregnancy had a sad ending (if you call it that, I think the ending was still kind of beautiful). Anyway, only you can decide if this woman's words can help you in any way or if her story is too painful for you to read right now, but I know you have lots of time on your hands and I felt led to share her words with you. If you click on 2008 when she found out about the complications with the pregnancy and go from there you will get the full story of her struggles.
I hope you are doing well and know that we are all thinking and praying for you and your little miracle.

  6. I am Nicole and a pProm girl too! I pPrommed at 18w6d and was admitted to the hospital that same day. I have been here since then and I just hit 25 weeks. Huddsan has an amazing heart rate and is growing right on track. I left my 9 year old and 2 year old at home and that tough. They come with dad 3 times a week and that helps. I have heard the good and the bad, always remember to keep your head up and go with your intincts. I have had crying bouts and the blues, but then something happens to say hey keep going. I am here if you want to talk, I haven't figured out how to post of the pprom digest, alittle computer illiterate. My email is nwinkers@baycomwi.com. Good luck/best wishes and you are in my prayers. Nicole
